Critical Reading and Writing Concepts

This course is designed to help students learn and develop critical reading skills necessary for comprehending, analyzing, and interpreting the college-level material.  Students will be introduced to a variety of genres, including fiction and non-fiction.  In addition, this course covers the basic rules of Standard Written English.  The course emphasis will be on sentence structure, grammar and usage, punctuation, vocabulary, spelling, writing style, and basic paragraph and essay form.
