Rental Equipment

To be eligible to check out REC rental equipment, you must:

  • Be a currently enrolled PTCC student in good standing
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a signed REC Waiver of Liability, Release, and Indemnification Agreement on file
  • Present your StarID at checkout

Equipment is for student use only and may not be shared, loaned, or transferred to another person.

FAQs

  • How do I get to The REC from Campus?
  • Who can use The REC?
    • The REC is open to all current PTCC students. Just bring your student ID and complete orientation. When you use The REC you will need to sign in at the front desk.
  • How do I complete orientation?
    • Students need to register for orientation: Sign-up
  • How much does it cost to use The REC?
    • The REC is free for PTCC students to use.
  • Can I rent the REC?
    • Not at this time. You can reserve the Flex Classroom and the Study Nook.
  • Can I bring guests?
    • Yes, guests need to be a minimum of 16 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 cannot use the Gym. Guests will need to sign in at the front desk and present a school ID or state ID.
  • What are the rules for using The REC?
    • We ask all students to respect the space and others by cleaning up after themselves, following posted guidelines, and being courteous. Detailed rules will be covered during orientation.
  • Can I reserve a space in The REC for a group event?
    • Yes! The REC offers group reservations for study sessions, clubs, and campus activities. Stop by the front desk or email Stacy.Orourke@pine.edu
  • Can PTCC students use the dock at Lakeside Student Living?
    • Yes. PTCC students who do not live at Lakeside Student Living may use the dock. Parking is available on the back side of the building. If the gate is locked, the access code can be obtained from REC staff at the front desk.
    • Students may also check out kayaks, stand‑up paddleboards, life jackets, and yard games through The REC.
  • Do I need to check in when I arrive?
    • Yes. All users must sign in at the front desk upon entry.
  • How long can I check out rental equipment?
    • Most equipment is available for same-day use and must be returned by the agreed return time.
    • Gear can also be checked out for weekends all gear is first-come, first-served. To reserve gear for a weekend, check with The REC front desk.
  • What happens if equipment is returned late, damaged, or missing?
    • Students may be responsible for repair or replacement costs for damaged, lost, or unreturned equipment.
  • Is there a limit to how much equipment I can rent at one time
    • Yes. Equipment limits may apply to ensure availability for all students.
  • Can I bring food or drinks into The REC?
    • Yes. Outside food is permitted in designated areas. Please be respectful and clean up after use.
  • Are lockers or storage available
    • Limited storage options may be available during use. The REC is not responsible for lost or unattended items.
  • What should I do if I lose something at The REC?
    • Turn in or ask about lost items at the front desk. Unclaimed items may be donated or discarded after a set period.

Student Lounge

A relaxed and comfortable space for students to unwind, socialize, or catch up on studying. The Student Lounge offers cozy seating, TVs, and a welcoming atmosphere for informal gatherings.


Flexible Classroom

A versatile space designed for both academic and extracurricular activities. The Flexible Classroom can be easily adapted to accommodate various teaching styles, workshops, group projects, and other campus needs.


Gym

Equipped with state-of-the-art exercise equipment, the Gym/Fitness Center provides students and employees with a dedicated space to focus on physical wellness.


E-Sports

A high-tech gaming environment where students can compete in organized E-Sports competitions or simply enjoy gaming with friends. The E-Sports area is outfitted with top-of-the-line gaming PCs, consoles, and comfortable seating.


Arcade

A fun-filled space featuring a variety of arcade games, from classics to modern favorites. The Arcade offers a nostalgic gaming experience, perfect for unwinding between classes or hanging out with friends.


Pizza Kitchen

A laid‑back space where students can bring in outside food or cook frozen favorites using our pizza ovens and air fryer. Vending machines are available.


Conference Room

Designated space designed for meetings, discussions, and presentations to facilitate communication and collaboration.

Wellness Room

The REC Wellness Room is space designed to promote relaxation, mental well-being, and overall health. It provides a quiet, private environment for individuals to recharge, meditate, or manage stress.
