As regulated by federal and state law, students are required to meet or exceed Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements (SAP). Pine Technical and Community College monitor’s each student after the completion of each semester to determine if a student is meeting these requirements or not.
According to Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements students are required to:
- Meet or exceed a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.00
- Meet or exceed a cumulative completion rate of 67%
- Comply with maximum time frame for financial aid (150% of the published credit length of a declared program. For example, 90 credits is the maximum time frame for a 60-credit associate degree program).
Students who fail to meet the SAP requirements, will be placed on both an academic and financial aid warning for one semester. Students who fail to meet these requirements for two semesters (regardless of the time between the two semesters) will be placed on an academic and financial aid suspension and will no longer be eligible to receive financial aid or attend classes without a successful Suspension Appeal.
Students placed on academic and/or financial aid suspension have the right to appeal their suspension. To appeal, a student must complete the Suspension Appeal Form in its entirety and submit it to the Admissions/Student Services Office (Room 10) with all supporting documentation or email to admissions*AT*pine.edu. All appeals must be submitted by the deadlines.
