Loans
A loan is a type of financial aid that must be repaid. There are a wide variety of student loans available to students, eligibility for federal loans are determined by the FAFSA process. Student loans can be an important source of funds to a college student. Different loans have different requirements and benefits. Students receiving loans from PTCC are expected to follow the Student Loan Code of Conduct.
Federal Loans:
- Subsidized Federal Loan
- Unsubsidized Federal Loan
- Parent PLUS Loan

Direct Loans for Students
Direct Student Loans are either subsidized or unsubsidized. A student may receive a subsidized loan and an unsubsidized loan for the same enrollment period. Once the student’s financial aid application is complete, a student will receive a financial aid award letter. The award letter will show a student his or her direct loan eligibility.
Steps to apply for federal direct loans:
- Go to Pine Technical & Community College’s E-Services.
- Log-in with your StarID and password.
- Select Financial Aid in the left-hand column.
- Select Loans.
- Instructions will direct you to complete Entrance Counseling, Master Promissory Note, and requesting of loan funds.
