Mental Health 101

This 5 part series is an introductory review of mental illness and how to recognize and interact with persons with mental health conditions. Learn how to understand and recognize mental health and/or mental health crisis, behavior concerns as well as provide resources for referral as needed. Each session will include activities and practice responses. **This series can be customized for companies, agencies and educational institutions.**

  • Part One: Biologically Influenced Disorders

    • A look into common mental illness of depression, anxiety, OCD, schizophrenia, bipolar and other related conditions. Examination of diagnosis, characteristic like signs/symptoms and management including potential interventions.

  • Part Two: Environmental Influenced Disorders
    • March 9, 2022, 6:30-9:00 PM, Pine Technical & Community College Rooms 50/51
    • A look at Conduct disorders. Examination of diagnosis, characteristic like signs/symptoms and management including potential interventions.

  • Part Three: Neurogically Influeced Disorders
    • March 16, 2022, 6:30-9:00 PM, Pine Technical & Community College Rooms 50/51
    • A look into several kinds of Neurodevelopment Disorders like ADHD, Autism and Cognitive Disorders like Dementia and Delirium. Examination of diagnosis, characteristic like signs/symptoms and management including potential interventions.

  • Part Four: Stress & Sleep Influenced Disorders
    • March 23, 2022, 6:30-9:00 PM, Pine Technical & Community College Rooms 50/51
    • A look at Trauma, Dissociative Disorders, PTSD, Insomnia, and related conditions. Examination of diagnosis, characteristic like signs/symptoms and management including potential interventions.

  • Part Five: Crisis/Trauma & Suicide Awareness
    • March 30, 2022, 6:30-9:00 PM, Pine Technical & Community College Rooms 50/51
    • A look into challenging behavior by exploring the body's fight/flight response as well as the crisis model. Learn therapeutic communication techniques to interact with someone in a crisis.
