Minnesota Future Together Grant

The Minnesota Future Together grant program will provide eligible PTCC students with a tuition-free pathway for earning a certificate, diploma, or associate's degree in a designated high-need career field. The grants are available through 2024 OR until all funds are dispersed, whichever comes first.

The grants, made possible through an investment from Governor Tim Walz with federal American Recovery Plan funds, aim to educate the future workforce in the following career fields:

High-need programs include emergency medical services professional certificate, nursing, practical nursing, and nursing assistant.

High-need programs include cyber security, and network administration.

High-need programs include business transfer pathway, and management information systems.

Industry and Technology
High-need programs include applied engineering, automated systems, automotive, construction, gunsmithing and firearms technology, precision machining, and welding.

High-need programs on your campus may include American Sign Language, and early childhood.

Public Service
High-need programs include human services eligibility worker. 


If you meet the following criteria, you may be eligible for a Minnesota Future Together Grant: 

  • You are a Minnesota resident 
  • Have not earned a Bachelor's degree
  • Completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or MN Dream Act Application
  • First enrolled fall 2021 or later OR you are returning to college and have not been enrolled at any college in the last three semesters
  • Making Satisfactory Academic Progress (not suspended from financial aid due to GPA), completion rate or Maximum Timeframe
  • Enrolled in an eligible high-need career field


Statewide, the grants will be available for spring 2022.
