Pine County College Initiative Scholarship

Congratulations, East Central, Harvest Christian, Hinckley-Finlayson, Moose Lake (Pine County residents only), Willow River and home school graduates! 

Pine County is now the only county in Minnesota where every high school graduate can attend college for FREE! 

Eligible High Schools

  • East Central High School
  • Harvest Christian High School
  • Hinckley-Finlayson High School
  • Moose Lake (Pine County residents only)
  • Willow River High School
  • Home school students within Pine County

Applying for the Scholarship

Amount of Scholarship

  • This scholarship will cover any remaining tuition and fees after the student’s Federal Pell Grant and MN State Grant have been applied to the student’s account. Up to $1,000 for books, tools, and supplies will be available.  

Student Eligibility

  • The student must be enrolled in a non-associate of arts program at Pine Technical & Community College, beginning in the semester following receipt of a high school diploma from the school indicated above.

First Year Scholarship

  • The student must complete a 2021-2022 FAFSA and enroll full time (minimum 12 credits) in a non-associate of arts program.
  • Successfully complete Success Strategies for College and Career Development
  • Meet with an advisor at least one time per semester

Second Year Scholarship

  • The scholarship will be renewed for the second academic year if the student has met the following conditions:
    • The student must complete a 2021-2022 FAFSA and enroll full time (minimum 12 credits) in a non-associate of arts program.
    • Complete the FAFSA prior to the start of fall semester.
    • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements at the end of the first year (2.0 GPA, 67% completion rate)
    • Meet with an advisor at least once each semester.
    • Successfully complete Success Strategies for College and Professional Development
