NURSING ASSISTANT AND MEDICATION AID CERTIFICATE

The Nursing Assistant and Medication Aide program is a stackable credential that provides students with pathways to continue their education into one of our Healthcare professional programs or enter directly into the workforce as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant and/or a Trained Medication Aide.

PROGRAM FACT SHEET

Students completing this certificate will be able to:

Demonstrate how to assist an individual with daily living activities
Identify psycho-social needs of clients
Identify how communication relates to the care of an individual
Describe how culture relates to the provision of care
Integrate infection control procedures and safety practices
Demonstrate safe procedures in medication administration in the oral, eye, ear, topical, and rectal routes;
Explain the rights of safe medication administration
Identify specific drug classifications, their action and side effects through the use of drug reference materials.
