ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE, DIPLOMA, CERTIFICATE

PTCC’s Welding Technology program provides extensive hands-on training using state-of-the-art equipment and industry-aligned techniques to prepare students for high-demand careers in manufacturing and fabrication. Students develop expertise in multiple welding processes while strengthening safety, blueprint reading, and quality control skills. With stackable credentials from certificate to AAS degree, graduates can enter the workforce quickly.

PROGRAM FACT SHEET

Students completing the welding technology diploma will be able to:

identify and display proper safety procedures;
analyze and apply specific manufacturing process procedures;
identify and apply specific quality procedures;
identify and select the proper filler metal dependent on base metal to be welded;
troubleshoot and solve common problems involved with everyday use of a welding machine;
fabricate several different welding projects to demonstrate expected skills required by industry standards;
interpret symbols and blueprints accurately for a variety of projects; and
understand and recognize the need to engage in lifelong learning.

Certifications

AWS D1.1 welding qualification tests. Each student takes minimum 4 welding certifications during the program in the GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW welding process.
