New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation at Pine Technical & Community College

Start your journey at PTCC with confidence. New Student Orientation is designed to help you feel prepared, connected, and ready for your first day of classes.

What to Expect

Your orientation experience is interactive, informative, and welcoming. You’ll have the chance to meet other students, connect with faculty and staff, and learn everything you need to succeed at PTCC.

  • Warm Welcome: Check in and get to know your classmates through optional icebreakers and activities.
  • Academic Essentials: Learn how to read your schedule and syllabus, understand expectations, and navigate tools like D2L, email, and eServices.
  • Campus Connections: Explore campus with student ambassadors and visit key spaces like the Library, Student Services, TRIO, and The REC.
  • Student Panel: Hear real advice from current students, faculty, and advisors about what to expect and how to succeed.
  • College Success Skills: Build practical skills in time management, budgeting, and study strategies through hands-on sessions.
  • Program Orientation: Meet with your program area to review expectations, required tools and supplies, and what your first week will look like.

Why It Matters

Orientation ensures you’re ready to hit the ground running—academically, socially, and personally. You’ll leave with a clear plan, important resources, and connections that will support you throughout your time at PTCC.
