ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE, DIPLOMA, CERTIFICATE

PTCC’s Automotive Technology AAS program combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on training in a state-of-the-art lab environment. Students develop expertise in diagnostics, engine performance, brake systems, electrical systems, transmissions, and emerging vehicle technologies. Graduates are equipped with the technical knowledge, professionalism, and customer service skills needed for success as Automotive Service Technicians.

PROGRAM FACT SHEET

Students completing this AAS will be able to:

be prepared for employment in the automotive field;
demonstrate appropriate safety awareness and practices;
demonstrate competency in the 8 Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) areas (Repair (A1), Automatic Transmission (A2), Manual Drive Train & Axles (A3), Suspension & Steering (A4), Brakes (A5), and Electrical/Electronic Systems (A6), Heating & Air Conditioning (A7) and Engine Performance (A8);
demonstrate professional and ethical practices: honesty, respect, teamwork, reliability and initiative; and
demonstrate effective written, oral, and computer communication skills.

Admissions Requirements

Minimum entrance assessment scores in reading and college ready assessment scores or equivalent preparatory course work in math.
