Healthcare Foundations

The Healthcare Foundations Certificate is a stackable credential that provides students with pathways to continue their education into one of our Healthcare professional programs or enter directly into the workforce as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will complete the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training and will receive a completion card. Students will also be eligible to sit for the Certified Nurse Aide Knowledge and Skills Exams (offered through D & S Headmaster).

Students completing this certificate will be able to:

Demonstrate how to assist individuals with daily living activities
Identify psycho-social, communication, and cultural needs as they relate to the care of individuals
Integrate infection control procedures and safety practices
Explain the rights of safe medication administration
Understand use of the critical thinking process in the healthcare industry
Obtain American Heart Association BLS Provider completion card
Demonstrate basic medication dosage calculations
Understand basic medical terminology
