OTHER LIBRARY CATALOGS

Below you will find links to several libraries and organizations that can help you find and access materials that PTCC’s library cannot access through its standard methods. If you have any questions about using the resources listed below, please contact the organization directly for the most accurate information!

 MnLink

  • MnLINK (Minnesota Library Information Network) allows student and faculty access to the collection resources of all types of libraries in the state. The GET IT button for interlibrary loan requests is operational on this system.

 East Central (MN) Regional Library

  • For persons living in Pine, Aitkin, Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Chisago and Isanti counties, this is a good supplemental collection to search especially for general research topics. If you don’t have a library card, don’t worry, they have a streamlined online or in-person application system to get your free card!

 WorldCat

  • Search access to WorldCat, the world’s largest union catalog. This is a good resource to use for unique or less common titles and information. Using may result in additional fees that are not present in standard catalog use.

 First Search

  • FirstSearch is an online service that gives library and education professionals access to a rich collection of reference databases. FirstSearch offers electronic access to dozens of databases and more than 10 million full text and full image articles.

Internet Archive

  • Free access to books, movies, music, and archived webpages. Home of the Wayback Machine for finding old or no longer available webpages.

Project Gutenberg

  • 28,000 free books in this online book catalog, focusing on books that are in the public domain (generally meaning they are at least 95 years old and are no longer subject to standard copyright restrictions).
