Network Administration



Within our interconnected online world, there is increasingly high demand for well-trained professionals who can manage computer networks and keep online data safe. The Network Administration program at Pine Technical & Community College will train you to administer and manage networks. Because PTCC is a certified Cisco Academy, you will benefit from additional hands-on learning and certification opportunities.


Students completing this AAS will be able to: 

  • Install, configure, manage, and monitor popular operating systems; 
  • Design, install, configure, and troubleshoot information technology networks; 
  • Apply legal issues governing the authorized conduct of cyber operations and the use of related tools, techniques, technology, and data;  
  • Evaluate and operate a defensive network architecture employing multiple layers of protection using appropriate technology; and 
  • Interpret various types of vulnerabilities, their underlying causes, their identifying characteristics, the ways in which they are exploited, and potential mitigation strategies.
