Workforce Development Scholarship

The Workforce Development scholarship awards $2,500 to students enrolled in high growth, high demand programs. Thanks to Minnesota Legislature, hundreds of scholarships are available to students attending fall semester.

Eligibility

  1. Must be a Minnesota resident
  2. Must be enrolled (each semester in 9 or more credits) in one of the following high-growth/high-demand areas of study: Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive Technology, Early Childhood Education, Health Sciences, Information Technology, or construction.

**The application process for this scholarship will open on January 16, 2023.

Jump Start: Spring Orientation

Welcome, new and returning students, to PTCC! Please join us Thursday, January 5 from 3:00-6:00 pm, for Jump Start: Spring Orientation. Jump Start is an opportunity for you to get to know PTCC’s staff and learn more about the many support services we offer before the semester starts. Your family and friends are welcome, and refreshments will be served throughout the event in The Lodge (student lounge). New students are required to join us at the event. Please pre-register using the button below.

Grantsburg High School Engineering Students

PTCC Automated Systems Technology instructor Doug Wickstrom visited Grantsburg High School’s Engineering class taught by Mr. Steck. The students learned about career opportunities in manufacturing and associated programs at PTCC. The students built spaghetti noodle towers with marshmallow connectors; the team with the highest tower took home a prize.

Transfer Fair

This event is open to high school students, PTCC students and the general public.
Transfer Pathways make it easy to complete a specific associate degree at PTCC and transfer to a Minnesota State University to earn a bachelor’s degree! It’s an easy way to save time and money without losing credits or taking extra courses. Attend the Transfer Fair to learn more about these programs, and connect with university partners from throughout the state to start making plans for your future! Transfer Pathway programs: Liberal Arts (AA), Business, Psychology, Applied Engineering, Automated Systems Technology, Early Childhood, Gunsmithing, and Precision Machining.

2022 Donor Appreciation Event

Each year the PTCC Foundation awards over $300,000 in scholarships to our students. On October 28, our donors, scholarship recipients, state representatives, local businesses and guests gathered at The Lodge in Pine Technical & Community College for our annual Donor Appreciation Event. The highlights of the event included a presentation by student speaker, scholarship recipient and Student Senate President Jezzalyn Ringler, presentation of awards to our generous donors, and food and bar services by local businesses and restaurants. From all of us at PTCC, thank you to all who are contributing to the event and foundation to make college possible for those starting out or starting over!
