TESTING CENTER

PTCC Testing Center offers academic testing to Pine students as well as MINNState students. The testing center also offers test proctoring services for professional credentialing for students and our community. 

Hours of Operation

  • Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (*closed when campus is closed)
  • By appointment only

Location

The Testing Center is located in the Library on campus. Enter Main Entrance Door 1, continue straight down the hallway past restrooms (on left), down stairway, through double-doors of Library, to Room 124 (on left) to check-In. Those with mobility limitations may enter Main Entrance Door 1, continue straight to first hallway on left, proceed to first hallway on right, then straight ahead through double-doors to enter Library, pass in front of desk to Check-In Room 124. 

No Parking Permit required. May use any campus lot. 

Testing Services Available

For all testing related to Nursing Assistant skills and knowledge testing for the Nursing Assistant Registry, please contact Dianna.Abrahamsen@pine.edu or call 320-629-5176.

Alternative testing is available to PTCC students who have been approved for accommodations through the office of Accessibility and Accommodations. Each consecutive semester students will be required to meet with the Student Success Coordinator, Robin Johnson, to pre-arrange for accommodated testing.

PTCC Testing Center offers make-up test proctoring for those students who, due to an emergency situation and/or unforeseeable circumstances, are not able to attend the original exam date for their registered course. Make-up testing is offered based on space and staffing availability and during regular Testing Center hours.

Students who are attending other schools, but want to take their Accuplacer exam at PTCC: please contact the school that you are attending to have them create a remote testing voucher. Contact proctoring@pine.edu with further questions.

Available TEAS exams will be available online at ATItesting.com. There will also be dates listed on the Nursing Program pages. Please contact proctoring@pine.edu with further questions.

The College Level Examination Program is administered by the College Board through which students of any age have the opportunity to demonstrate college level achievement through exams in undergraduate college courses. Our testing center does charge a $25 proctoring fee for CLEP testers who are not current PTCC students. Please contact Patty Gerhardson at proctoring@pine.edu or 320-629-5197 to schedule.

The DANTES program sponsors a wide range of examination programs to assist military service members in meeting their educational goals. One such program is the DANTES Subject Standardized Test. DSST is also open to non military testers. Our testing center does charge a $25 proctoring fee for DSST testers who are not a current PTCC student.   • Contact your faculty to request permission and pre-arrange a testing date to take your exam in the testing center. Faculty will complete the Faculty Proctoring Request Form and deliver your exam to the Testing Center. 
  • Email proctoring@pine.edu to reserve a testing appointment at least 48 hours prior to test day.

  • Once the testing appointment is scheduled the student will receive a confirmation email with CC to the instructor. 
  • Bring identification; Student ID or driver’s license. 
  • Arrive 10 minutes prior to appointment time to allow for sign-in process and to store personal belongings not allowed in the testing room. 
  • Faculty will complete the online Faculty Proctoring Request Form, providing all necessary information required for the testing center staff proctor the test. No test will be administered without a completed Faculty Proctoring Request Form.  
  • Hand-deliver paper test(s) to Check-In Room 124 or email to proctoring@pine.edu. If after hours, slide test under testing center office door. 

Proctoring Services 

Are you searching for a place to have your exam proctored? PTCC Testing Center offers proctoring services for individuals taking online courses from educational institutions who are required to arrange for supervised exams in a secure, quiet and controlled environment.

Students who are not enrolled at PTCC or other Minnesota State colleges will be charged a testing fee for each exam proctored. 

Proctoring Fees are to be paid in the Campus Bookstore with receipt given to the testing center staff prior to testing. To obtain the proctoring fee form testers should plan to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to test time to Check-In Room 124 to obtain proctoring fee form and directions to Campus Store.

  • Provide this information to your faculty to complete: 
  • Faculty may submit one or all student names associated with the same course/exam in one submission. (We recommend this link be saved in favorites) 
  • Paper exams can be emailed to proctoring@pine.edu or mailed to:

  • Bring a photo ID (driver license or student ID) 
  • Arrive early at Check-In Room 124 LRTC for check-in process 
  • If non-Minnesota State student, obtain the PTCC Proctoring Fee Form from the test administrator, then visit the Campus Store Cashier to pay the fee, then return to Check-In Room 124 and give receipt to testing center staff. Testers will not be able to be seated for scheduled exam without paid receipt. 
  • If you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled test time, the proctor has the right to reschedule based on room and staff availability. 
  • To cancel or reschedule this appointment email proctoring@pine.edu. A testing seat is reserved for you. If you are not able to keep your scheduled appointment please notify us so another student has the opportunity to schedule their exam. 
  • Bring only what you need for the test to your appointment. Leave bags and coats in your vehicle when able. 
  • Limited locker space is available to store personal items. 
  • Beverages, food, gum, cell phones, large jewelry, watches, hats, sunglasses, or electronics of any kind are not allowed in the testing room. 

Professional Testing Services

PTCC Testing Center delivers computer-based credentialing exams.  Testing Candidates will schedule directly with the testing vendor when making their exam arrangements.  Our testing center is an authorized test center for the following national testing vendors.

Automotive Service Excellence exams are offered at PTCC. Testers may book their appointment to test directly through ASE or by contacting Patty Gerhardson at Proctoring@Pine.edu or 320-629-5197.

Testing Candidates schedule their exam(s) through PearsonVUE by going online at www.pearsonvue.com or by calling the Pearson VUE Call Center.  PearsonVUE will notify PTCC Testing Center of exam appointment details and exam delivery requirements.
